WARNING SIGN: WATER SEEPAGE
Water seepage is the culprit of most basement problems. When you have water in the basement (whether it is condensation or two feet of water) it is a problem. A loose mineral salt, called efflorescence, is caused by humidity and looks like a white powdery substance. Reddish or orange stains are usually caused by iron ochre, when there is a lot of iron in the soil. Dark stains or patches indicate mold problems that need to be checked out right away.

Cracks allow water to seep into your home. Some cracks are natural and happen because of settling. Small cracks can get bigger over time if water is coming through them. I would give Signature Corporation 100 stars if I could. The work quality was amazing. They explained to me the things that weren’t done right in the first place that caused the damage that I had and what they were doing so it wouldn’t happen again. Every one of the work crew was extremely polite and respectful. The work was explained to me step by step and I always knew what was going to be done the next day. The work areas both inside and outside of the house were cleaned up daily. They found a few bad spots on my roof and after showing them to me they even tarped the roof for me until I can get it fixed. They didn’t have to do that. I didn’t ask them to. How awesome is that? I had gotten another quote for the work. Signature beat that quote and didn’t have to take my fence down. The other company would not be responsible for putting it back or responsible for any damages done to the yard. I just had the fence installed. Again, an awesome crew.
